Lock Aadhaar Biometric Online

There are two ways to lock Aadhaar Biometric Data and they are either through the UIDAI’s official website or the mAadhaar App.

Visit UIDAI to Lock Aadhaar Biometric

• Open the official website of UIDAI and under the Aadhaar Services section click on the Lock/Unlock Biometrics link.
• Provide the 12-digit Aadhaar number and the security code.
• Then click on the Send OTP button present at the bottom.
• You will receive an OTP on your mobile number registered with Aadhaar.
• Provide the OTP you have received and then click on the Login button.
• This will allow you to lock your biometrics.
• Then enter the 4-digit security code mentioned on the screen and then click on the Enable button.
• Your Aadhaar Biometric data will be locked.

Download the mAadhaar App to Lock Aadhaar Biometric

• Download the mAadhaar App and make a login.
• Click on the three vertical dots present at the top-right corner of the app.
• Choose the Biometric Settings option and then tick the Enable Biometric Locking option.
• You will receive an OTP on your mobile number and it will be entered automatically into the application.
• Your Aadhaar biometric will get locked through the mAadhaar App once you approve it.

Unlock Aadhaar Biometric Data Online

You can either use the mAadhaar App or the official website of UIDAI to unlock your Aadhaar Biometric Data. You must explore both the process below:-

Unlock Biometrics through UIDAI

• Go to the official website of UIDAI and under the Aadhaar Services tab, click on the Lock/Unlock Biometrics link.
• Enter your 12-digit Aadhaar number and the security code.
• Then click on the Send OTP button and you will receive an OTP on your registered mobile number.
• Enter this OTP and click on the Login button.
• Enter the security code and click on the Unlock button if you want to temporarily unlock the biometrics.
• Your Aadhaar Biometric Data will be unlocked temporarily for 10 minutes.
• You can see the date and time when your biometrics will get locked again.

Unlock Aadhaar Biometric Data through the mAadhaar App

• Download the mAadhaar App and make a login.
• Click on the three vertical dots present at the top-right corner of the app.
• Here, you will have to unselect the Enable Biometric Locking option.
• Then click on the tick mark to complete the process.
• You will receive an OTP and it will get automatically fed into the application and there is no need to enter the OTP manually.
• Once you approve the process, your biometrics will be unlocked temporarily for 10 minutes.
