Aadhaar Card Address Validation Letter & Process to Request

Last Updated : Jan. 4, 2025, 4:40 p.m.

Sometimes, an individual moves from one place to another, and his current residential address changes. So, he has to update the current address in the Aadhaar where he is residing currently. Therefore, an Aadhaar Address Validation Letter is issued by UIDAI after verifying the new address you have requested, from the Address Verifier either a relative, friend, or landlord. This letter is sent to the Address Verifier’s Address by UIDAI which contains a security code. Then the Address Verifier gives his consent to the resident to use his address on his Aadhaar. After the Verifier Submits his consent, UIDAI will give an Aadhaar Validation Letter within 30 days from the date of submission.

Do You Know What is an Aadhaar Address Validation Letter?

When someone wishes to update their address on their Aadhaar card, the Aadhaar Address Validation Letter becomes an essential document, especially for those who lack traditional proof of address. As part of this process, a validation letter is sent to the address of the person verifying the address, under the guidelines set by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI). This letter contains a secret code, which plays a key role in the address update procedure. This program, designed specifically for individuals without valid proof of residence, enables the updating of address details on Aadhaar, ensuring that the demographic information remains accurate and up-to-date.

Address Validation Process

Four major steps have to be followed to submit your request for Address Validation. You will have to follow all four steps.

Step 3 - Confirmation of Address Verifier’s Consent

  • Now you will have to make a login through the SRN you have got.

  • Preview all your address details on the screen.

  • If you want to edit your local language then you can do so.

  • Then click on the submit button.

Step 4 - Get the Secret Code

  • Now UIDAI will send an Aadhaar Address Validation Letter with a secret code to your verifier’s address through post.
